Is there anyone out there that can find VIDEOS that can be played on my COMPUTER E-MAIL ADDRESS with the actual Games played by the 1936 Gold Medal British Ice Hockey Team during the Winter Olympics of 1936? You can contact me at my Computer E-mail Address which is [email protected]

Two honorary members of Ice Hockey Journalists UK were further recognised by the British governing body for the sport - Ice Hockey UK - at their black tie centenary dinner in Dumfries on 1 December 2013, attended by 250 guests. Martin C.Harris and Stewart Roberts were among ten honourees presented with an award 'for contribution and services to British ice hockey'. 2013 Hall of Fame inductee Moray Hanson was also similarly honoured.

Mr. Grainer - I have a Durham Wasps programme dated 1 May 1954 with your uncle Mike Jordan (defence) list as No. 10. Next season also shown as wearing No.10. The next season I have in my archive is 1957/58 when M.Jordan is listed as No.3. Season 1960/61 Mike Jordan was playing on defence for Whitley Bees still shown as No. 3.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I'm hoping that someone can help with some info I'm after regarding my uncle, Mike Jordan, who played for Durham Wasps (among others) in the 60's. He also played for GB against the USA very early in his career & I believe that when he was picked he was only 16 & the youngest player to have played for GB at the time. What I'm trying to find out is, what was his player number when he played for the Wasps? I have no. 11 or 22 in my head for some reason. My Auntie Val can't remember & Mike passed away in December 2011. Hope someone has a good memory!

It was Albert Masland whose money founded the Belfast Giants in 2000, along with the slogan 'In the Land of the Giants All Are Equal'. So suggest he is as equally worthy as Jim Gillispie for his contribution to community relationsand should therefore also be admitted to the Hall of Fame without further delay. I hope the executive and some members of IHJUK will nominate and admit Masland forthwith.

I played hockey with the Wembley Colt, RAF and other teams until I emigrated to Canada in 1956 are any of my old team mates still alive & kicking?

I am very sad to learn of the death of Norman de Mesquita and count myself lucky to have known him personally. I had been meaning to give him a call but now regret that I missed the opportunity. Like Norman, I was brought up on a diet of Wembley Lions ice hockey and can recall his refereeing days! His dulcet tones and accuracy of his announcing left a lasting effect on me and when I took over the announcing at Milton Keynes back in early nineties I based my delivery on his. RIP Norman, you will be missed by both ice hockey and cricket.

A friend of mine took me to watch solihull barons in the mid eighties and that was it! hooked! if you wanted to get hold of me on a sat/sun night try ice rinks various anywhere and you might get hold of me! One of the highlights was Wembley and that very polished guy Norman DeMesquita I can still hear him now,I only wished id got to hear him announce the Barons at wembley, not to be!! he passed on my birthday so atleast i get a chance to remember him each year and I will.Hockey was a blast then,I live in Aus now so pick up the odd game over here,it takes me back,Norman would have enjoyed Melbourne Ice v Perth Glory! A very memorable part of my life and one I always think back to............

Wonderful to reminisce......I played for the Sussex Senators back in the early '70's (Stew Roberts was team secretary!!) Still remember the championship game against Bristol (which we won and included a bench clearing brawl started by myself and Bristol Capt Pete Murray).......It was far too short a period in my life, but probably one of the most memorable.

Att. Martin C Harris. Hi Martin I am getting in touch with you in reference to Stuart Muir Edinburgh born ice hockey player, Stuart played for Murrayfield Royals and Racers before joining Fyfe Flyers. He had a illustrious career as a player from the sixties into the eighties and was always up in the charts with the goals and assists. After his playing career Stuart went on to referee and coach for another twenty year period during which time he produced many of the stars of the past and present into our game. Stuart was well liked and admired for his input to our sport by ex players and families of the young players that he was elected and served as chairman of the SIHA for a number of years and made many changes during his time in the seat to improve the sport. After fifty dedicated years to our sport I see no better candidate for the Hall and I am sure this would be seconded by many present Hall of Famers. I would appreciate if you could follow this up and put into motion. Many Thanks Martin. Freddie Wood Edinburgh 07710-549-371. [email protected]

John

Regret no photos of GB at the 1977 World Championships in Hernng, Denmark. But as I am slowly, with two co-authors, putting together a book on the history of the GB team, which will include a detailed player register, I would be grateful if you would kindly supply your exact date of birth for the register. Currently we have 1946, were you born at Maidenhead in Kent?

If you would rather email me direct you will find the address in the honary members section of this web-site. If I can obtain a photo you will be more than welcome to a copy.

Best wishes
Martin

I played goal for Great Britain at the 1977 World Championship, Group C, in Copenhagen. Have written a book about the creation of a game called Trivial Pursuit and would love a picture of the team or an action shot during that tourney. Anyone out there have something that comes close to that. John Haney

I was wondering if you had anything on my father " Hank Lemoine " He played with the Murrayfield Royals in the early 50's. Dad is still alive, and doing well. Hank Lemoine Jr.

Stuart

As you may know by now the presentation of your grand father's (Earl Carlson) Hall of Fame citation certificate has been arranged for Sunday 16 September at Whitley ice rink. Should be a memorable event with Hall of Famer 'Jonker' Johnson (Durham Wasps) helping.
